To start things off, we thought it only right we interview our founder, Katelyn and we hope you enjoy learning a little more about her and her luxe collection! 💖

How old were you when you bought or received your first designer handbag? 22

Tell us about it! Was it love at first sight, or is there a story behind it?

Yes! I had saved up for months & finally went to purchase on New Years Day. It was the most I had ever spent on an accessory so I went to Bicester Outlet to try and save a little money. It was a Mulberry bag and I treasured it!

What's your most treasured handbag in your collection, and why does it hold a special place in your heart?

It’s not designer and I’m not even sure it could be classed as a handbag but it’s my Grandmas handbag. It’s from the brand Radley & I remember when she bought it she was really excited. Me being a 13 year old teenager told her it looked like a pencil case(!). Since then every time she used it I would call it her pencil case. She is no longer with us but I will keep this bag forever. It’s proudly on display next to all of my other handbags ♥️

What's the one bag on your wish list that you've been dreaming about adding to your collection?

A Birkin 25!

Have you ever sold a bag and regretted it? If so, which one and why?

Yes SO many! Mostly to fund business expansion which of course I am happy about but there are two bags in particular - my very first bag (the bag that started it all) and my very first Pochette Metis, I bought it pre loved and I remember feeling sick spending so much on a bag to make protectors for - it turns out it was totally worth it. It was the most gorgeous lipstick pink colour!

What's your go-to handbag for everyday use?

Either my Pochette Metis, Picotin 18 or my Chanel So Black Mini

If you could only keep one bag from your collection, which one would it be and why?

Other than my Grandmas bag I think I’d have to say my So Black Chanel as I use this so much! I also take it on every trip as it’s such a versatile bag.

What's your favourite luxury brand?

Chanel holds a special place in my heart (as long as they stop increasing their prices!) lol. 

Which Havre de Luxe product is your absolute favourite?

I mean I’m definitely bias and would say them all! But I seriously couldn’t choose between our Cleansing Wipes & Stain Guard. Daily we receive messages to say they’ve saved your handbags and I can’t tell you how happy that makes me! They were both developed off the back of me ruining my own handbags and wanting to make sure the same never happened to anyone else ♥️ I genuinely wouldn’t buy the bags I have today without either of these!

Lastly, do you have one piece of advice you'd share with our luxe-loving community about building or caring for a designer bag collection?

Protect your bags, always carry a cleansing wipe & don’t store in direct sunlight (I have first hand experience of bags being bleached by the sun)! I know this is 3 but I just couldn’t pick one 😅♥️
