According to WWD Hermès Flagship store in Guangdong recorded $2.7 million USD in sales on it’s re-opening day.

Whilst it’s been noted that Hermès has not confirmed the figure themselves, VIP shoppers were quick to document their purchases across Chinese social media such as Weibo.
One user posted several pictures of herself at the new Hermès store and said she spent almost 1 million renminbi (over $142,000 USD at current exchange). Her purchases included a black crocodile Birkin 30 as well as clothes & shoes.
The fate of the luxury world has been under the spotlight with many speculating that it would be one of the toughest hit industries however, this surely has to bring some confidence to the sector, in the hope that a similar trend will follow Worldwide.
What are your thoughts on this? Will you be rushing to shops as soon as stores re-open or will you be holding back on any luxury purchase for the foreseeable future?
